About Us

The BBC Parents and Friends' Association is a Not-for-profit Association governed by a Constitution and Executive Committee and is a registered Charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission.

We are the main parent body at BBC. We provide parents and friends of the College with the opportunity to be actively involved in the development of activities and initiatives which directly support the College and strengthen links between the College and the wider community.

The P&F Association works closely with other members of the BBC community including BBC staff, the BBC Foundation and the Old Collegians' Association to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for the College.

In particular, the P&F Association is responsible for:

  • Parent Forums and other events
  • Co-curricular support groups
  • Parent Connections
  • The operation of the Tuckshop and the College Shop

The Tuckshop and College Shop are proudly operated by the Parents and Friends' Association as a service to the College community.

All profits from P&F businesses are returned directly in support to the College for the benefit of all students.

P&F Tuckshop

Tuckshop is proudly operated by the P&F Association as a service to the BBC community and source of funds for reinvestment into the school.

The Tuckshop provides three services each day – breakfast, morning tea and lunch.

At Brisbane Boys' College, we understand that we have an important role in promoting healthy eating and physical activity to our boys.  A healthy diet can improve behaviours critical to educational success and performance at school.  Effective school based nutrition and health interventions can also help improve academic performance.

As such, the Tuckshop aims to model healthy food and drink choices that are tasty, interesting and affordable, mirroring the nutrition message taught in our classrooms and via our Long Term Athletic Development Program.  Constant menu review ensures that more fresh meals are made onsite using lean meat, skinless chicken breast, low fat dairy products and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from local suppliers.

BBC values the input and support of many volunteers who are essential to the day-to-day operation of the Tuckshop. We welcome volunteers to join our team and every effort will be made to accommodate your work schedule.  Volunteers are rostered one day per month (approximately 10 days per year) usually with parents from the same year level. Historically, long lasting friendships have been formed.

In 2018, we introduced My Student Account which is an online ordering and cashless payment system that can be used by students and parents to make purchases at the Tuckshop.  Online ordering is available for all students (Prep to Year 12) at breakfast and lunch and students (Year 7 to Year 12) at morning tea.  Middle and Senior school students (Years 7 to 12) can use their existing student ID card with a linked MSA account as a debit card to make over the counter purchases at the Tuckshop at any time.
